PhotobucketHello again. Gee, does it take me a long time to post an entry on here! Ive tried about 4 times now to write something for the site but the words just dont seem to flow. I have plenty to talk about but nothing to say… how perculiar! :s

First I have to say in elation that my university application has finally been sent off!! It seemed like a quick end to a very long process but of course it doesnt finish there! I did so many drafts of my personal statement and I can only hope it gets me where I want to go. In the end I applied for UWIC (University of Wales Institute Cardiff), Worcester and Winchester. Not really that high profile but I like them :) Im praying to get into UWIC because when I went I just fell in love with the place. I love the city and of there’s no forgetting the course itself; I want to take English and Drama and UWIC just seemed right, its high on the league tables and the course sounds amazing…ooo I cant wait!! I should ask here:

If you want to go to university:

  • where do you want to go?
  • What course do you want to take?
  • School is going pretty well at the moment, psychology has me getting up earlier every morning this week to get in early and set up things with Jason. Unfortunatly our origional 25 chosen participants has ended up at 10 which does suck but its going pretty well so far and everyone has ideas about what the experiment could possibly entail for them. Im going to be kind of vague here on the tiniest shred of a possibility that one of the lovely year 12s in the experiment happens to read my blog ;) Its quite funny because they all have to sit there and wait for everyone to get there and then after a video which lasts about 30 seconds we tell them they can leave and please come back tomorrow. They are all like “what!?”. Friday should be interesting as we have 2 groups coming in and everything will be tied up. cant wait to see the results :D

As for the site—I am ever so excited!! Over the next month or so I am going to be extending the site creatively. I have a friend in my sister’s year called Tammy (I call her Tamitha) who is absolutely AMAZING at manga! she is soo talented and so lovely and she has two particular characters that I have fallen in love with—Elain and Paru (as featured in this blog’s icon) because of Tammy’s wonderificousness (which is now a word :P) she is drawing me some amazing images which I can use as part of a new layout for the site. Also she has allowed me to take the image of these characters and use them in my own origional writing. In this new creative spurt I shall be adding a section to the site dedicated to Elain and Paru, with the stories and drawings there for people to see and follow. Hopefully people will read and take an interest but if not it will be satisfaction enough for me to see mine and Tammy’s work paired on the site, just because of the importance this site has for me as a form of expression. Anybody that does read this please keep tuned in because big things will be a-happenin’!

Finally I have to announce the winners of the first These-Moments competition, featuring Katy Perry:
    1st place:
    Martin
    2nd place:
    Lucy

and inform you that the second competition, centered around twilight is now open! :)

Oh and speaking of twilight—I updated my blends!!

    Twilight

Tis all for now! Blog soon :spin:

I am feeling particularly warm and fuzzy inside right now  and this feeling is for several reasons, the formost being the organization fo my psychology coursework!
I am doing an experiment with a guy called Jason who is like my twin! lol we both came into sixth form with the same subjects, dropped the same subject and we both want to be English teachers! Its really cool having a friend with so much in common, his best friend Hayley is also amazing! she’s soo funny! I seriously love her! :woohoo: infact Ive spent quite a bit of time with them recently because I embarass most people…its okay though—these guys can handle it! ;)
Back on the subject of psychology… what we are doing is actually pretty nifty! See, our topic is “leading questions” and we decided that we are going to test how familiarity with a stimulus can influence the effectiveness of leading questions. The study is based on an existing experiment by psychologists Loftus and Palmer who got their participants to watch a video of a car crash and found that using different verbs such as smashed, impacted or touched within the sentence “how fast was the car going when it _____ the other vehicle” affected the account of the speed given by the participant. Its actually very interesting despite the fact In probably made it sound about as fun as algebra!
Other cool-ness is that our drama about the homeless man who wins the lottery is pretty much ready to run now and we are taking it on tour to primary schools!! many children shall feel the wrath of Lawrence Andrew Warner!!! its going to be great! :D

Finally I have happy news about the competition I previously mentioned… ITS UP!! Check it out by either clicking here! or if you are more of the old fashioned type, search out the new link in the navigation bar! Please enter so this first competition can be a sucess! If things go well with this new feature of the site I can eventually do things like domain competitions which would be brilliant!

Thats all from your friendly neighbourhood dork for now!

    Smiles xxx
